The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) held their annual conference on 30th and 31st October 2018.
An essential event for councillors, council officers, county association members and officers, the NALC Annual Conference sees local councils join with other parts of the public sector, the private sector and voluntary sector to discuss key policy issues. This is a chance to hear the latest policy developments, take part in workshops and visit exhibitors who can support local council's needs.
Premium Light Pro were exhibiting to ask council's about their lighting needs and share the useful resources created under the project. On Day 1, Project Manager Stewart Muir ran an introductory session on lighting, while lighting expert Iain Macrae from the LIA attended on Day 2 to speak to councillors individually about their needs.
Councillors were interested in the project and what it could offer them, and many copies of the Premium Light Pro guidelines and procurement criteria were received. In turn, councillor's experiences of lighting - especially street lighting - were varied and it was great to hear about these experiences on an individual level. Expect new case studies in our Best Practice session in the coming weeks.
